You are IT Warren Tricomi Lounge!
Four questions to Marta Cataniciu, founder of Warren Tricomi Lounge.
Why did you start your business?
When I opened my first salon-spa in 1983, I realized how few structures and working standards were in place for the beauty industry, so I committed myself to raising the standard by creating transparency, providing more training and using technology to automate systems.
What is your best-selling product/service?
Our best selling services are cuts, colors and blowouts!
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
We have always supported local businesses by sourcing all of our products locally and using local suppliers specific to each region in which our salons are located. We also regularly donate to local charities and partner with local fundraisers for good causes.
Have you “reinvented” your small business?
Yes, I had to redesign my small business many times as industry standards were constantly changing. When I started the company, our operating systems were paper and pen. There was no transparency for our staff or data to analyze in order to get ahead of the business. I saw the need to invest in technology that would deliver data and customer experience, which was starting to become the norm in other industries.
We have now evolved into living room software that gives us the ability to analyze various KPIs by team member and location. We have a mobile app and online booking portal for our customers which automates over 50% of our bookings. These changes have allowed us to be proactive in our management style and to achieve our objectives on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
The ability to automate parts of our operations through technology has freed up my time to focus on marketing efforts, which has provided us with a new level of control to allow us to work upstream to achieve our business goals of precise way.
Another point of difference for us has been to provide extensive training to our team so they can exceed our industry quality standards and bring cutting-edge artistry to every client.
Thanks HamletHub Fairfield County Bank for making our Why Small Businesses Matter series possible!
